Early Morning on the Chilkat

On my second trip to Southeast Alaska, I traveled the first two weeks of November. I figured I’d be a month earlier than my last trip (the first week of December). Well.... The landscape is a LOT different. Snow had yet to stick to the ground in the valley, and the river hadn’t frozen over yet. Yes, there were still plenty of eagles (1000 more than my last trip), but with river not being frozen, the eagles were scattered about the valley. Alaska isn’t known for being kind in the weather department either. It rained / snowed the entire two weeks I was there. A pretty miserable trip...... I did manage to get this eagle during a break from the rain. Still.... I’d rather be stuck in Alaska with rain than......(you fill in the blank).
