Standing in Solitude This fella was alone not to far off the road. When I first saw him, he had a visiting bird on his back. I drove up behind a hill so he couldn't see me and I slowly creeped up just over the ridge to get a shot of the bison & bird. The bird was gone, but he did fill up the viewfinder, so I blasted off a few photos. While they look slow, bison can be extremely quick, so I slowly backed away and scampered back to the car, keeping my eye back where he was. I got a memo from the park rangers when I got to Yellowstone that was captioned in a cartoon. It read, "Buffalo horns leave unsightly scars". I think I'll always remember the cartoon as it was cute, but could be very true.
