Early in the morning I’ve counted as many as 200 deer in the fields of Cades Cove. This particular morning, I was out in the fields with about 14 bucks. I move slowly amongst them picking out which one I’d like to get a shot of (a photograph that is!). I was watching a 8 point with a dropped tine for a while, and then started watching this guy. I’d stay still for a while and he’d go about his business, but if I started moving, he’d keep an eye on me. So I focused on him, and started clapping my hands. He looked up and I fired.
