Whitetail deer abound in Cades Cove. And come Autumn the bucks take the stage with their antlers up to 14 points or "tines". And while I don’t condone chasing them, the deer are very tolerant of people. My photo equipment lets me keep my distance, but also allows me to get the close shots that represent nature at its best. For this shot, I walked out into the field and stayed in one spot for nearly 2 hours. With the threat of danger gone, the deer go about their normal routine.
