Another Day Passes

Mukuntuweap was the first name of this park. It was established as Zion National Park in 1919. Zion doesn’t see a lot of visitors like other national parks, but by my standards, it is one of the most beautiful. I spent two weeks backpacking in Utah’s backcountry, and it was this park that impressed me most. A drive down its main road greets visitors with steep walls forming massive canyons. Waterfalls drop over these walls forming clear pools surrounded by green moss and just a short walk further can turn into hot desert-like conditions. My shot here was just a short walk from my campsite. Last light is hitting the mountain behind the cactus, and a quiet cool night followed.
