A Twist of Time

On a trip to Oregon, an area I really wanted to see was the Columbia River Gorge. Located at the base of Mt Hood, the gorge has many creeks and streams flowing into it. Waterfalls are everywhere; Latourell, Wahkeena, Multnomah and Horsetail Falls to name a few. My first stop was Chanticleer Point, a spot that looks out over the Gorge. On normal days the view would be incredible, but the week I was there it rained every single day. It was cold, so that wasn’t too pleasant, but overcast skies are great for what I was shooting. This is a close-up of a cedar tree stump. It was colorful and has very interesting details.
