Fall in Yellowstone. Nothing like it! The aspens are turning golden yellow, the bull elk are in rut and are bugling through the night, and the first snows of the season make their appearance. My trips to Yellowstone are primarily for wildlife photos, but on this day it was raining off & on, making it a quite miserable day. So I opted for some fall color close-ups. While making my way down a boardwalk, I caught a glimpse of this stump amongst a carpet of red. This is a favorite shot of mine, because it looks good in Color & in Black & White.
