This is a photograph taken from just south of Newfound Gap. My folks and I were headed to Highlands, NC to search out some waterfalls. We woke early to get a jump on the crowds

( This was an October weekend! ). As we passed Newfound Gap, the sun was just starting to shine on the mountainside, which was in full autumn color. We just had to stop and take a shot, and apparently so did a photography class that was here. So not only did my folks and I get this shot, but about 30-40 other photographers did as well.
