Winter Nears October is here on the Noah'Bud'Ogle farm. This is the last of many mills located on this creek. Its design was originally enclosed in a wooden tub-like casing, hence the name ,tub mill. Many families that didn't own or operate a mill would use the mill to grind their corn. Their toll was a partial of the corn meal ground. Other than a couple of iron bearings, the mill was constructed of materials collected from the forest. The Ogle family's use of land was right for their time. Few people would really like to return to this way of life, but it doesn't hurt to know how they did. Walking the trail around the farm brings me a renewal of spirit and an appreciation of life.
