Red Columbine

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a floral lovers paradise in spring. It's around the third week of April. This is columbine. A small flower measuring around 2 to 3 inches long. You can find these along the Little Pigeon River Road. They tend to be on the cliff-side about eye level. This is where I got this shot. I was taking shots about two feet from the road in a bend, so cars can't really see you until the last second. I did manage to get a few nice photographs, even though I was combating with the wind from the cars passing by.
