Fall has come to the Great Smoky Mountains. Many business' put out fall decorations from late September to the end of October. Autumn color peaks usually around the third week of October in the Valleys. The few trees up near the peaks that aren't evergreens have already past their prime, and are now awaiting spring. I've seen the autumn season stay until the second week of November. Other years, all the leaves have fallen by the last week of October. Mother Nature has her own way of giving us changes in the seasons.
