A Frame of Mind Photography Gallery was opened in Gatlinburg, TN on April 1st, 1994 or as some know it, "April Fools Day". I was skeptical ( somewhat superstitious ) about opening this day, but I talked with relatives that assured me not to worry. I was very happy with my first sell, "Carter Shields Cabin & Daisies" to a descendant of the original owner/pioneer that built and lived in the cabin in Cades Cove ( Great Smoky Mountains ). With the help of my girlfriend, Deneicee Carter, the gallery broke even the first "tourist" season. While we were on a trip to Yosemite, CA I called home to find out a fire had destroyed my gallery, exactly 1 year and 3 days since I opened it.. Rather than reopen, which would be rebuilt towards the end of the year ( a financial disaster without tourist in town ), I decided to take time off and build my photo files with shots from around the country. Since that time, I've enjoyed traveling to:
